What is PesaPlus?

Pesaplus is a digital platform that provides loans after meeting all the requirements specified.

My Account

How do I validate my mobile money account?

We ask you to validate your mobile money account to ensure that it is a supported carrier and that it belongs to you. Click on the link from an android phone, and then click on the phone number labeled NOT VALIDATED that you wish to use as your Pesaplus phone number

Can I change my account details after I receive a loan from PesaPlus?

At Pesaplus, we conform to the highest standards of data integrity. This means that you cannot change information that was previously used to process a successful loan application. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Can I delete my account?

If you would like to delete your account, please make sure that you have repaid all of your loans and then write to us on the in-app chat or email us at [email protected] with your request.

Eligibility Criteria

What is required to receive a Pesaplus loan?

Requirements are simple – all you need to apply is your National ID and mobile money account. We will also request access to the data on your phone in order to build your credit score.

Why was I rejected for a loan at Pesaplus?

If you don’t get accepted when you apply, don’t worry! Sometimes it may take several attempts to qualify for a loan. We encourage you to continue saving data on your phone and to reapply after the period stipulated.

How long does the loan application process take?

We aim to process all loans within 24 hours. On average we process loans in less than 3 hours and hope to reduce that to a few minutes.

How can I increase my chance of being accepted?

Pesaplus uses data from your phone as well as other sources to make a lending decision. To increase your chances of approval, please make sure to save the data on your phone, stay current with all other lenders, and correctly input your account details.

Loan Details

How do I apply for a loan?

Applying for a loan is easy! After you have entered the Pesaplus website, all you need to do is sign up, navigate to the “Loans” option and simply select your desired amount and fill in your personal details, phone number and mobile money account details. Then after a few minutes review the loan will be credited into your account.

How much can I borrow?

Our loan sizes range from Tsh 10,000 to Tsh 350,000. If you repay loans as scheduled, the amount that you can borrow will increase.

Can I apply for a higher amount than the one i see?

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to access a loan of a larger size. The fastest way to increase the amount you are eligible for is to build credit by making each repayment as scheduled.

What’s the largest amount I can take?

At the moment, the highest loan amount we offer is Tsh 350,000 but this may increase in the future.

What is the interest charged?

Interest rates are determined by a number of factors, including your repayment history with Pesaplus and the cost of lending for us.

Will my loan amount increase every time I repay?

Your loan offers are automatically determined by a number of factors. Even though it may not always increase immediately, it will increase over time as you continue to make all of your repayments as scheduled

How fast will my loan amount increase?

Each loan amount is automatically determined by our systems each time you repay based on a number of factors. We encourage you to keep making your repayments as scheduled to increase your loan amount.

My repayment didn’t reflect. What should I do?

If you do not receive confirmation from PesaPlus that your repayment was received within a few hours, kindly send us the transaction confirmation message you received and the number you used to make the payment via Whatsapp and by email [email protected]. We will follow up and update your account.

Can I repay early?

Yes, you can repay as early as you can.

What happens if I overpay my loan?

If you overpay your loan on your last repayment, the amount will remain on your account and be applied on the repayment of your next loan.

Late Repayment

What will happen if I miss my repayment?

Paying each loan by its due date allows you to build your Pesaplus credit and access larger loan sizes. Late repayments will affect your ability to get subsequent or larger loans. Late fees will also be charged on the outstanding loan repayment amount for some loans. If you are very late on your payments, we may report to the Tanzania Credit Authority.

Can I request to repay my loan at a later date?

Yes, you can do it by paying an extension amount which will put your debt on hold from increasing up to when that extension period is over.

How to extend my repayment amount?

On your personal account at https://pesaplus.co.tz/user/login, you can check if an extension option is available for your loan. Detailed information on the amount and prolongation term is also provided here. Please remember, it is necessary to pay the correct amount of extension, that is specified in the terms. What should I do when I clear my defaulted loan?

Once you have settled your defaulted loan, you can write to us through the email or call us, and we will further advise you.

What is a Credit Authority?

A Credit Authority collects credit information on individuals and provides repayment performance data to banks, lenders, and other businesses. They help promote financial inclusion and prevent over indebtedness.
